Walk For Life 2008

Our counseling is offered by a group of well trained lay volunteers with varied backgrounds. Each counselor cares deeply for our clients and works to provide relevant information and address the issues that make abortion seem like the only option for their pregnancy.

Counseling Services

1) Crisis Intervention Counseling
A woman facing an unplanned pregnancy can face a wide range of feelings. We’ve found that these commonly include anger, isolation, helplessness, and anxiety. Unless these feelings are addressed she will likely want to find the quickest escape - abortion. Our counselors are trained to listen carefully to our clients and then to respond to her most pressing issue in order to provide with the information and support that she needs to make an informed choice about her pregnancy, including all of her options and the consequences of each choice. When appropriate, a client will be offered a sonogram to confirm the pregnancy.

2)

Support Services
The staff and volunteers are dedicated to helping each client and her extended family with both emotion and physical assistance. We provide community referrals as well as offer material assistance through programs offered at Advice & Aid.

  3) Sexual Integrity Program
Sexual Integrity is…expressing your gift of sexuality throughout life in a true, excellent, honest and pure way. It is the protection in childhood, direction in adolescence, and celebration in adulthood. Our goal is to educate our clients about their values as women created in God’s image. When we believe, emotionally, physically, socially, intellectually and spiritually that we are worth only the best – true, lasting love – we are on the way to achieving sexual integrity.

   4)

Abortion Recovery
Any loss of pregnancy can leave physical damage, emotional pain and spiritual wounds. At Advice and Aid we believe that abortion is tremendously damaging to a woman. Sometimes years after the procedure a woman can find herself suffering without any explanation. The physical effects from an abortion may last a lifetime, but our experience shows that the emotional and spiritual effects can be healed and restored.
